Why use a Remodelers Council Member?
RMC Members are "pre-screened"
When contractors and suppliers become members of the Remodelers Council they are checked with the State of New Mexico Construction Industries for proper licensing and insurance. In addition the Remodelers Council members must have no outstanding complaints with the Better Business Bureau or The State of New Mexico Consumer protection division to make sure there are no outstanding complaints. Only then are contractors admitted into the Remodeler's Council.
RMC Members are Professional
All Remodelers Council members subscribe to a code of ethics and most have taken professional educational courses that help them to provide a higher level of quality and professionalism than other remodeling companies.
RMC Members have access to The Remodelers Care Program
If a dispute occurs about the job a member is doing for you, The Remodelers Care program is a no charge, option to consumers and members to resolve disputes.
Remodelers Care Program
One of the most powerful benefits the consumer gains by using a member of the HBACNM Remodelers Council for a project is access to the "Remodelers Care program." Most any kind of remodel is a complex, time-consuming project. There are many opportunities for significant miscommunications to arise between the remodeler and the consumer. Sometimes these miscommunications result in an adversarial relationship that stops the project.
The "Remodelers Care" program is designed to reopen communication between the consumer and the remodeler and get the project restarted in a positive fashion.
If an impasse has been reached from the consumer's point of view, the consumer merely contacts the HBACNM Remodelers Council and outlines the nature of the problem. A "Remodelers Care" representative will contact both the RMC member and the consumer to get a clear understanding of the nature of the problem. A site visit may be involved. After a thorough examination of the issues, the "Remodelers Care" representative will provide a written report to both parties outlining one or more possible solutions to the problem.
This process is not a binding arbitration or even a binding mediation process; but it is an avenue for a dispassionate third-party to provide a no-cost expert opinion that both parties may use to reach a resolution.
In many cases, this third-party expert perspective can restart communications and bring projects to a successful conclusion without the high expense of attorneys or arbitrators.
The HBACNM Remodelers Council provides this service to the general public on a no-charge basis to help resolve issues involving RMC member companies.
